CAM JACQUES – GENERAL MANAGER
Welcome to the Medicine Hat Golf & CC. My name is Cam Jacques and I have had the privilege of being the General Manager at “The Hat Golf Club” for the past 21 years. I have been managing golf courses for almost 30 years now, with previous stops at The Pemberton Valley Golf & CC just outside Whistler BC, St. Andrews Golf Club near Penticton BC, Kanata Lakes Golf & CC located in Ottawa ON, and Canyon Meadows Golf & CC in Calgary. My schooling was completed at Selkirk College in Nelson BC where I received my diploma in the Golf Course Management Program in 1992.
My wife Susan along with our two children moved Medicine Hat in 2000 and are very proud to call Medicine Hat our home. Medicine Hat is a dynamic city with so much to see and explore and “The Country Club” is definitely one of the city’s crown jewels.
The golf course overlooks the South Saskatchewan River and is a majestic, well-manicured, tree lined golf course that is a real treat to play. The putting surfaces at “The Hat” are second to none and our “Amen Corner” at holes #13-#15 will challenge golfers of all abilities.
Our experienced staff will make sure your day at the MHG&CC is one to remember. Our knowledgeable and friendly staff members will assist you in the Pro Shop with your check in, our servers will make sure your burger at “The Turn” has the exact toppings you like and that your beer is cold. Finally, your stop at our 19th hole will include some old fashion hospitality and panoramic views of our beautiful river valley on our back patio.
So, if today is your first visit to the MHG&CC, enjoy your experience to the fullest and I know we will see you again. If you have already toured our beautiful property before…then welcome back and come say hello, as my door is always open.

Wayne Mattson is moving into his 22nd season as Canadian PGA Head Professional at Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club and is in his 24th year as part of our team since joining in March 1998 as the Canadian PGA Associate Professional. Wayne attained his Class A Status in 1998 and has been a Canadian PGA member since 1992. Wayne was born and raised in Medicine Hat and has 2 daughters and one son Alexandrea, Danika and Cian. After being introduced to golf at the age of seven, Wayne entered the golf business at the Connaught Golf Club as a Canadian PGA assistant Professional where he worked under Head Professional Glenn Carr. From there, Wayne moved to Cottonwood Coulee Golf Course and finally to the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.
Wayne is a certified fitter for Ping, Callaway and TaylorMade. Wayne has coached both Ringette and Basketball for a number of years. He is currently an off-ice official for the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL and referees Basketball in and around Medicine Hat.
Wayne looks forward to continuing the many traditions at the MHGCC for many years to come in his position as Head Professional as well as helping create some new and exciting programs at the club.

Connor Lunge is in his 13th year here at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club. Connor was born in Medicine Hat and played his junior golf at the Connaught Golf Club. After graduating from Crescent Heights High School in the year 2009, he took a year off school before starting the Professional Management Program at Lethbridge College. Connor graduated from the Golf Management program in 2012.
Connor joined the PGA of Canada in the Spring of 2011 after passing his playability test at Alberta Springs Golf Course outside of Red Deer. In December 2016, Connor achieved his Class “A” status with the PGA of Canada. Connor is excited about growing the game and is actively involved in our Junior League and Lessons each and every year.
